The Imperial, Coronation party
1953. View shows a party held at the Imperial public house to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Children wearing party hats are seated at long tables with a few adults among them to supervise. The Imperial was situated on Somerby Street, between England Street and Florist Street in the "Alphabet Streets" area of Burley. The photograph was supplied by John Bean who is one of the children pictured.
