2nd July 1950. View shows ex-Southampton tram no. 297 entering Easterly Road from Roundhay Road, while tram no. 269, a Middleton Bogie, is on the right, picking up passengers. The Yorkshire Penny Bank and the Co-operative Insurance Society are in the background on Roundhay Road.

In 1944 I stood outside the bank waiting for my first date with the girl who has been my wife of 61 years. We married in September 1950. This area has certainly changed some what but so have we! We now live in the USA & on our last visit noted that her old family home & our first married home on Harehills Lane was a hotel!
