17th January 1979. View of Number 1 South Parade, Sovereign House, the Bank of England building, from the junction with Park Row, foreground. It was designed by architect, Philip Hardwick and opened in 1864. Here a sign promotes the new wine bar called 'The Bank'. It was due to be opened on Tuesday, 6th November 1979.
